Across Australia – Piano and Flute Concert

The Mitchell Conservatorium is bringing a new concert, Across Australia, to Lithgow on Friday 8 May. Across Australia will showcase some of the best contemporary Australian classical music performed by Phil Braithwaite flute and Cindy Fox piano.

Artists react to the people and places that surround them; creating works that represent a diversity of contexts. Evoking seas, skies, and the landscapes in between, this program teases out the responses of some of Australia’s eminent composers, past and present.

Featured works include: Ross Edwards – Nura, Miriam Hyde – Five Solos, Jan Preston – Eat Chocolate and Cry, Peter Sculthorpe  – Songs of Sea and Sky and two short solos for flute and piano.
